Nichole Worthington, Peer Navigation Manager, Oversees and maintains the peer support program.
Nichole has been with Emerge since January 2024 and has been a peer support specialist since 2016. She received her supervising peer supporter’s training in 2020. Nichole has been in recovery from substance use disorder and mental health recovery since January 12, 2014.
Nichole graduated from Beavercreek High School in 2006 and went through a long road of substance abuse that ultimately brought her to the place she is today. Nichole served on the board of directors for Sober Lotus Recovery Housing as secretary from 2015-2017. It was during this time on the board of directors that Nichole became a Certified Peer Supporter in 2016 through Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services. Nichole worked with Thrive Peer Support from 2020-2024, during that time she was able to wear many hats. Nichole helped with training new employees, hosted a town hall meeting, worked as a team lead while maintaining a community caseload of up to 20 peers, and advocated for peers in the child welfare system while she worked for the START Program of Warren County Children Services.
In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and making the most of each day. Nichole believes that the home is the first ministry where all other things are built from. Nichole also likes to find time to get on the pottery wheel and create functional pottery.
Nichole follows the motto that “If you’re trying, you’re dying; Just do it.” This helps Nichole remain in a constant state of remaining teachable. She wants to be able to use what once was meant to kill her as a survival guide for the next person that struggles with substance abuse disorder and wants to live free from the bondage that holds them back.
The HOPE that Nichole has found through her spirituality and working with others shows in her passion to give back and help others learn how to recover from what has tried to destroy them.
