Local Couple embody Jesus’ love by supporting Emerge

As a member of New Community Church, our house church had the privilege of volunteering at Emerge several times before their launch in 2023. We cleared demolition debris, assisted with painting and landscaping, and built vegetable garden planters. Through these experiences we were able to get a firsthand look at Emerge’s mission and its potential to transform lives in our community.

What touched us most were the personal tours we received of the facility prior to the launch which showed us how Emerge would help individuals rebuild their lives. One of the things that stood out was that their approach was not focused solely on addressing underlying issues like addiction, but also that they were dedicated towards equipping those in recovery or former foster youth with the support and skills needed to successfully transition themselves towards independence.

As Christians, we believe we have been called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, especially by serving our neighbors in Greene County. Emerge perfectly embodies this calling by offering support, love, and second chances to those in need. We encourage everyone to consider how they can support Emerge, such as through financial contributions, prayer, or volunteering. Every effort makes a difference and ultimately makes our community stronger.
