    The Heartbeat of Emerge

    Back to Blog

At Emerge, encouragement isn't extra. It's essential.

Taking time to recognize one another strengthens our culture, fuels our mission, and reminds us why we do this work together. Every day, our team quietly lives out our core values in ways that restore lives and bring hope to the people we serve.

This space exists to celebrate those moments, because these values aren't just words on a wall. They are how we show up for each other and for our community.

    We Serve

Showing up with compassion, care, and a willingness to do whatever it takes.

John Dafler stepped in to help check on a client at a shelter and ensured they were safe and supported.

Adam Gardner helped manage a housing issue and picked up donated office furniture so the team had what they needed.

On her day off, Dinah Callender called in a client's prescription and coordinated pickup so they wouldn't struggle through the weekend.

Kris Haynes continues to be a steady presence for clients. One mother shared how his care helped her son move from despair to confidence.

    We Own

Taking responsibility and stepping up when it matters most.

John Babb demonstrated tremendous growth and resilience during a season of transition in housing, leading to his promotion to Emerge Springs Housing Manager.

Keith McCall and Lauren Brezny stepped in while leadership was off-site, ensuring clients were supported and operations ran smoothly.

    We Rise

Growing through challenges with flexibility and perseverance.

Amy Muran showed incredible flexibility, covering groups and stepping in wherever needed during staff illness.

Alicia Cormier persevered through personal and professional challenges while still completing major projects with excellence.

    We Excel

Pursuing excellence in every detail, big and small.

Cassandra Kirkpatrick and Robin Lawrence helped the Trades Institute achieve its first 100% orientation attendance.

Alison Wagner's thorough and intentional supervision documentation earned praise during a CARF review.

The Arise Café Team and Amber Jenkins worked tirelessly behind the scenes to pass inspection and receive their café license.

    ### Customer Review:

"I'm from Columbus Ohio. I was in Xenia Ohio on business. I found this place on Google, and I promise I am not upset about it. I have not had a turkey club like that in years. The bread was perfectly soft and toasted and everything was just perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better lunch and I will probably go back whenever I pass that place. I will make a special point to go back to Arise Café. The guy that was working there guided me inside from the parking lot and when I tell you they had the best customer service. The young lady that helped me was wonderful. She even gave me a big cookie that was freshly baked. I just want to take time to say great food, great atmosphere, great people."

    We Empower

Encouraging others and leading with heart.

Ryan Glass, Tracy Williams, and Daneal Stiles provided steady leadership and creative problem-solving while teammates were away.

Eden McDonald consistently brings joy and positivity that uplifts everyone around her.

Every one of these moments matters. Restoration happens through people — through everyday acts of service, leadership, resilience, and heart. Thank you to our incredible team for living out the mission and restoring lives and purpose together.
