New Auto Lab Coming to The Trades Institute at Emerge Campus
Emerge Recovery & Trade Initiative is excited to announce the construction of a new Auto Lab at The Trades Institute, made possible through the generous support of the Dayton Foundation and the Charlie Shor Foundation. This significant investment marks an important step forward in expanding hands‑on training opportunities for those we serve.
What was once housed at the Pitt Stop Tire and Auto will now find a permanent home on the Emerge Campus, creating a dedicated space where students can fully engage in automotive instruction aligned with our curriculum. The new Auto Lab will allow students to complete real‑world vehicle repairs—often on vehicles belonging to program participants—enhancing both skill development and practical experience.
This new facility reflects Emerge's commitment to workforce readiness, sustainability, and meeting real community needs. By bringing the Auto Lab to campus, students will benefit from increased access, consistency in training, and an environment designed to support learning and growth.
We are deeply grateful to the Dayton Foundation and the Charlie Shor Foundation for their belief in the mission of Emerge and their support in helping us equip individuals with the skills and confidence needed for long‑term success.
"The new Auto Lab represents what's possible when community partners invest in people. This blessing gives our students consistent access to hands‑on learning while strengthening our ability to meet real workforce needs. We are deeply thankful to the Dayton Foundation and the Charlie Shor Foundation for helping us turn potential into progress!" — Cassandra Kirkpatrick, Director of The Trades Institute
